Award-winning Royal and celebrity hairdresser Richard Ward is one of the industry’s leading lights, and one of the media’s most wanted hairdressers. Pioneer of the super salon concept, his eponymous, uber-cool award-winning Sloane Square salon plays host to a team of over 90 experts, looking after the hair and beauty needs of over 1,200 clients per week including a glittering celebrity clientele.
Richard briefly trained at Daniel Galvin before joining Neville Daniel in 1985 and meeting and working with many of the people that remain his colleagues today, such as Julie, Gavin, Fiona and Robert. After completing his apprenticeship, Richard left to work at Hari’s salon in SW7 before returning to Neville Daniel in the early 90′s to resume his career at a more senior level.
Following a change of ownership, Richard met his wife Hellen when she was brought in to assess the ailing business. Months later, Richard and Hellen conducted a management buy-out and started the lengthy process of re-building the salon. In 1997, after the expiry of their lease, they moved to their Sloane Street premises, re-branding as Richard Ward. A further move to their current location in 2005 led to them developing one of the first super size salons in the capital and cultivating the business to its current position as one of the largest independently owned salons in the UK.
