Allergy Alert Test (AAT) Policy

Your safety is our priority. In line with industry best practice and manufacturer guidelines, our salon requires an Allergy Alert Test (AAT) for certain clients prior to colour or tinting services.

Who Needs an AAT?

  • New clients who have not previously had any colour or lash/brow tinting services elsewhere but wish to book with our team of experts.

  • Existing clients who have not had a colour or tinting service at our salon within the last 6 months.

  • Clients who have experienced recent changes in health, medication, or allergies that may affect sensitivity to colouring products.

What Is the Procedure?

Clients are required to attend the salon for an in-person patch test at least 48 hours before their appointment. A small amount of product is applied to the skin (typically on the inside of the elbow) to check for any reaction.

  • The test itself takes 5 minutes.

  • Clients are asked to remain in the salon for 40 minutes to monitor for any immediate signs of a reaction.

  • During this time, you are welcome to enjoy a complimentary consultation with one of our experts. This helps ensure the correct service is booked for your needs and avoids any disappointment on the day of your appointment.  

Patch tests are valid for6 months, provided there are no changes to your health or product sensitivity.

If You’ve Had Colouring Elsewhere

If you have had colour services elsewhere within the last 6 months and are unable to attend the salon for a patch test, please contact our reception team. A screening questionnaire can be arranged and must be completed prior to your appointment.

Important Information

  • No colour or tinting service will be carried out without a valid patch test or completed screening, in line with our safety policy.

  • If neither requirement is met, your appointment will need to be rescheduled, and cancellation charges may apply.

  • Declining both the patch test and screening means we are unable to proceed with your service, and cancellation charges may be incurred.
