Length of Service: 19 years
It is with great sadness that we share that our Style Director, Bev Pascoa, passed away on Sunday 16th September after a long battle with cancer. She was just 47.
Proudly Portuguese, Bev joined the Richard Ward family 19 years ago in 1999 as an Apprentice and underwent our in-house training programme, working her way up to become one of our most revered cutters in her role as Style Director. She trained alongside many of the second generation of Richard Ward stylists who are still working in the salon today.
Renowned as a precision cutter, Bev gave her clients an unequalled service and was much in demand. Much sought-after by her very loyal following, her column was always booked weeks in advance – a true testament to her outstanding talent with a pair of scissors and her creativity with a brush.
Much like her personality, Bev was direct and matter of fact in her consultation and technical approach; the same traits as she demonstrated throughout her long illness. She didn’t want a fuss, dealing with her treatment positively, bravely yet privately.
A natural creative, Bev enjoyed an active role on the Richard Ward Artistic Team and in mentoring the generations of apprentices that followed in her footsteps, giving the salon and the Richard Ward team an ongoing legacy that we will carry long into the future.
At Richard Ward, it is often said we are only a strong as the team we have working with us and as much of a cliché as that may sound, we are indeed a family.
Having worked with us for 19 years, Bev’s loss to the team is immeasurable, but she will always remain is at the core of our team; as a colleague, as a friend and very much as an integral part of the Richard Ward Family.
