Richard Ward Hair & Metrospa welcomes Smile team to salon
Richard Ward Hair & Metrospa is delighted to announce that the team from the prestigious Smile salon, Chelsea, will be joining the Richard Ward team at their Sloane Square premises from Monday 8th September.
With experience spanning over four decades, the Smile team – including original owners Leslie Russell and Keith Wainwright, MBE – bring with them a wealth of knowledge and technical expertise gained over many years in the industry.

I am looking forward to sharing my creative ideas with the already successful Richard Ward team, while continuing to work alongside our loyal Smile team,’ said Smile salon owner Keith Wainwright, MBE.
Founded in 1969 by Keith and Leslie, Smile’s history spans over 40 years and has seen a glittering clientele including Vivienne Westwood, Elton John, David Bowie, Paul McCartney and Eric Clapton. The salon became well known throughout the 1970s and 80s for their innovative use of colour and versatile cutting techniques, cementing their reputation as the go-to destination for trend-led hair. Smile’s commitment to innovation and excellence has continued to draw musicians, designers and celebrities alike.
Richard Ward Hair & Metrospa is home to a glittering celebrity clientele and looks after the hair and beauty needs of over 1000 clients per week under its philosophy of meeting and exceeding clients’ expectations through technical excellence, attention to detail and personalised customer service.
The addition of the Smile team to the established RW team now take the Celebrity and Royal Hairdresser’s total team members to 93, cementing Richard Ward Hair & Metrospa’s position as one of the largest independent salons in the UK.

We share many similarities – not least that we have created a hairdressing family which has grown organically but still includes team members from our original line-up at inception some 22 years ago. We’re thrilled that the Smile team are joining us and look forward to the additional expertise they bring to our very established team”.
